The Light You Left Behind
The air feels different now you’ve gone,
A quiet hum where laughter bloomed.
But in the silence of the dawn,
Your radiant spirit stays entombed—
Not as a ghost, but as a flame,
That warmed the rooms and called my name.
I’m grateful for the time we shared,
To witness how you shine so bright.
A soul so vibrant, deeply cared,
You filled the shadows with your light.
To miss you is a heavy grace,
The price of seeing Heaven’s face.
So as you travel back your way,
O’er miles of road and turning tide,
I send a prayer to guard your day,
With angels walking by your side.
May every mile be paved with peace,
Until the day all partings cease.
Keep shining on, my sister dear,
Though distance grows, your soul is near.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.\"
— Psalm 121:8
