Persistent Prayers

Tune: St Peter

(\'How sweet the name of Jesus sounds\')

Luke 11 v.5-10

**********

Three friends in the poem - A, B, and C.

----------

A friend (A) called on another friend (B)

At midnight, said, Me lend

Three loaves, for a friend (C) of mine, he

Has journeyed unto me

And I have nothing in store for

Him, he is hungry sure

But friend (B) in house said, Trouble me

Not, in bed my family

Though he (B) not rise and his friend (A) give

So his friend (C) would live

Yet because he (A) persists, he (B) will

Get up, give to him (A) still

So Jesus says, Ask, and it shall

Be given you, know well

Seek, and you shall find, knock, and then

Door to you be opened

For every one that asks receives

They that seek find, believe

This, and to they that knock, the door

Shall be opened, \'tis sure
