Cure for the Cursed

I am not deaf — I just can’t hear.
It is truly a curse,
for I cannot hear you, dear.
I long to hear your voice;
I ache to hear your laughter.
Oh, what a plague — devoid of noise.

I am not blind — I just can’t see.
It is truly a curse,
for your face is lost to me.
I crave to see you smile;
I yearn to see your grace.
Have pity, love — I’m a hopeless case.

I am not silent — I just cannot speak.
It is truly a curse
to never say those three small words.
If I could force them from my mouth,
imagine the burst of your happiness.
Though my lips are sewn shut
by the threads of fate.

Nothing so great about an empty creature,
yet your love has filled my heart with treasure.
No cure exists within me—
and still, you break through.
My dreams belong to only you.
A love unlike any other.
