The voices in your head aren\'t real,
And until you realize that, you won\'t be able to heal.
They\'re constantly trying to belittle you and tear you down,
And it took me a long time to realize that you are the only one who can turn them around.
Even though they can be loud with their hate,
It is up to you to set them straight.
They can be filled with criticism and despair,
But it is just as easy to turn them around and fill them with compassion and care.
There are so many things that you can\'t control,
And it can be difficult to keep going when those things are ripping apart at your soul.
You can\'t control what is going on around you,
It is important to take the power back and focus on what you can do.
Maybe you can\'t change the circumstances, but you can change your mind,
And once you do, it will be easy to find,
That you have more control than you always thought,
And the kind of courage you have is something that could never be bought.
A lot of people would have given up already, not allowing themselves to see what they are capable of,
And that finding the strength to keep going is the most courageous act of love.
Not giving up on yourself, or the others who helped you along the way,
The ones who stayed by your side when everyone else faded away.
Before you know it, you finally realize that it all happened so everything could fall into place,
And coming to that conclusion is what is going to help you finish that race.
The things that you missed out on were not meant for you,
And finally coming to terms with that is what got you through.
What you ended up with is so much better than expected,
And you are so grateful that someone is watching over you, and making sure that you are always protected.
