EMOTIONS

Walking through the night,

with the darkness keeping me company,

the city swirling around me

offers me its streets,

deserted and sleepy.

Its enchanting whispers

lead me toward her,

a seductive temptation,

mischievous to my heart.

I am here in the night;

inside the house I was trapped,

far from her scent.

And this city

leaves me breathless,

winks at me,

the frame of our destiny.

They ask me, why her?

Because you don’t give up on emotions,

once you encounter them

you never let them go.

Why does she make you wait?

Because love doesn’t take the easy path.

I look around,

a thousand unfamiliar faces

watching me and walking away,

and she arrives, she knows I’m waiting for her

and she likes to see me in love.

They ask me, why her?

Because you can’t give up on emotions,

once you encounter them

you never let them go.

Why does she make you wait?

Because simple paths aren’t for love.

Now that morning is breaking,

while dreams have faded,

the city comes back to life;

its streets,

distracted and crowded,

lead me to her

who is waiting for me.

They ask me, why her?

Because you can’t give up on emotions;

once you encounter them,

you never let them go.

Why does she make you wait?

Because love doesn’t take the easy path.
