My body ached beneath the rush of night
as I leapt into my swollen hay,
a creature dreary, worn and weary,
yearning for dreams less bleak and grey.
And so, an image drifted toward me—
yes, I remember, once upon a time,
that tender, lingering smile
carried the taste of sweet lime.
She gently glides ahead
as I fall vast into my void;
as she extends her velvet hands,
I wait to be slowly destroyed.
Her eyes outshone the stars above
as she descended from paradise;
if I could ever praise her beauty,
it still would never quite suffice.
