That Memory Of Whitby.

A memory came to me,

A time with my wife

Up in the Yorkshire Dales.

We went there for many years,

One day we went to Whitby.

Over the Dales,

Over the Moors

To Whitby.

We walked round the town,

Saw the Abbey,

Saw the whalebones,

But did not see Dracula,

Did not see him as the sun was shining.

But the thought that came to mind

Was we had to have fish and chips there,

So into the restaurant we went

And ordered our fish and chips.

Such a wonderful meal it was,

The fish was bigger than the plate

But the thing that amazed me was the cost,,

Fish, chips, mushy peas

Bread and butter

And a cup of tea,

All for three pounds, seventy five pence.

I have never forgot that price,

So cheap for a wonderful meal.
