“I am the saddest man in the house,”
said the happiest man in the house,
to the most handsome man in the house,
who also happened to be the ugliest.
“I am the strongest man in the house,”
said the weakest,
“I’m the hungriest, the thirstiest, the most tired.”
“I’m certainly the most dissatisfied,”
said the man most fulfilled,
but was blind and leading blind men
in crazy circles around his palace.
On they went together,
observing cracks in the paving,
dirt in the flower beds,
spots on leaves and weeds in the pond,
and the unripe fruit that kept falling.
