Poetic Dan

Ink remembers what we forget

May my words set me free

It\'s easier in a song to just let it be

Reality is you won\'t miss me

As I pass with no great mystery

A unread text is all you\'ll see

An old photo of forgotten memories

Tales told for a generation or two

After that there is no more muse

Dust never settles and time is irrelevant

Precious words given in rhythmic element

A melody that says I made it into existence

Scribing in atoms wondering if I made a difference

Each note and symbol was a gift from nothing

Turning into everything to give me something

I maybe halfway round my clock or a quarter to go, could even be the day after tomorrow

All I know is ill never know

So I breathe in deep to let it go

Grateful for the ancestral glow

Ripples to waves in the ebb and flow

The ink remembers what we forget

You can\'t not miss what never left

Letting tears flow to water the soul

Save in the knowledge we\'re never alone

I\'m proud of every moment,

even if they don\'t call.

For like everything in life,

we rarely know the value of something

until it\'s gone.

And if I had one wish,

it would be that my words live on.
