Seasonal Friend

My friend who was once so close,
But left before the second winter.
We met in summer, and we made it to the next spring.
They were my lifesaver when I was drowning.

To the friend who helped me heal,
When all I did was cry on my knees,
I will forever be grateful
For the friend who saved me without ever knowing.

I had waited for someone like them for years,
And I will never stop feeling them near.

Whether we are apart by six feet of dirt,
An ocean,
Or a border,
I will always keep you by my side.

Whether summer comes or winter,
Whether it\'s autumn or spring,
Whether through pain or happiness,
My friend, you will always be.

Whether rain or snow,
Thunder or hail,
Or the morning dew on flowers that haven\'t bloomed,
I will keep your name in my diary,
Until I reach the final page,
Thank you for never giving up on me,
And for taking my hand when others pushed it away.
