The sky is always dour before it rains
Tumult threatens the sky with thunder
Lightning zaps those who dare attract it
But the sky is always dour before it rains
People gaze up at the giants looming overcast
Knowing they hold gentle sprinkle or plangent droplets
Nimbus can only cease after rainfall, yet it lingers to shroud the sun
Without a sunny day the flora cannot flourish; the children will pale
Without the rain the flowers cannot bloom; the bees cannot play
Nimbus will only burst into pelting showers after the final thunder
But it could have been drizzles that made rainbows in its wake
The sky is always dour before it rains
