There once was a boy
Who had eyes full of stars.
While others saw concrete,
He noticed the flowers.
He danced with the shadows,
He laughed with the rain.
He called on the moon
By its own special name.
He painted the world
With a brush made of air,
and found hidden magic
In paths that seemed bare.
He flooded each place
With his beautiful light,
Helping those lost
As they walked through the night.
One day you may meet him,
(I pray that you do),
I hope through his eyes
That your world is made new,
That you let the sweet song
Of the blossoming trees,
Carry your soul
On the swell of the breeze.
And see that our earth
Is a canvas of life,
Bursting with wonder,
In spite of its strife.
For of all truths he carried,
The truest and best
Was that every small creature
Deserves to be blessed.
We may vary by colour,
By species and name.
Though our nature can differ,
We\'re born much the same.
We breathe the same air,
We all have a heart,
We all welcome dawn,
We all weather the dark.
The stories we carry
Are woven in love.
We all were once stardust
From cosmos above.
So walk with his wonder
And hold his hand tight.
Then pass on the spark
Of his radiant light.
For the boy with the stars
In his shimmering eyes,
Is the dreamer in you
Looking up to the skies.
