Sadness follows me like a lost dog,
It\'s in everything I see,
Everywhere I go,
Sadness follows me like a constant shadow.
Somedays, it leaves me be,
Somedays I feel it like rain pattering faintly,
Building up like waves,
It crashes over my grave,
Somedays, it falls on me like a weighted blanket made of agony.
So you see,
It is not I who decides,
When it comes and goes,
When it vanishes and stays,
So you see,
I have no choice in days I have to let myself get buried.
Like a constant companion,
Loyal in a twisted sense,
Like a presence overshadowing my existence,
Like a god playing with its creation.
At nights , my sadness and I ,
Lie side by side,
As the night goes by,
It latches itself onto me like a parasite,
It smears it\'s darkness onto me ,
Leaving imprints no one can see.
Some days are decent enough,
Sometimes I laugh with my friends during the day,
But inevitably, come what may,
Night rolls around,
And it latches itself onto me again,
Like a ghost from the past creeping up on you,
And refusing to leave no matter what you do.
It\'s been like that for about five years now,
I don\'t know,
I\'ve lost count,
Like a constant presence,
I\'m a puppet,
In a never ending story,
And the author is anything but me.
