THE LAPPING OF THE WAVES

The clouded sky
It hid the rainbow
Joined by strings
To his heart
The gentle waves
That slowly lapped
By the pier
Tore him apart.

His weary gaze
Forgave the splashing
Of seabirds dive
Close by
Inside a heart
To pine
Outside eyes
Which wouldnt cry.

The thought
Wasnt new my friend
Its a long
And lonely path
Walked by many
Before him
When suicide
Threw its cap.

The sea it seemed
To call his name
A watery bed
To lay his head
But something tugged
At his thoughts
Better miserable
Than dead.
