ACT I
A bright August morning
Times Square.
A photographer and model meet;
the young woman disrobes
and stands, nude, with clothes at her feet.
Passersby smile, and say
Beautiful! How lovely!
A living work of art!
And with admiring gazes, snap selfies
with the naked woman in each photo’s heart.
ACT II
A bright August morning
Times Square.
A photographer and model meet;
the young man disrobes
and stands, nude, with clothes at his feet.
Passersby scowl, and curse
Disgusting! Perverted!
Nobody wants to see that!
And with fists raised, call police
with the naked man hauled away in chains.
INTERMISSION
ACT III
Why does our society see a difference?
When we are, all of us, born the same?
Why are a naked woman, a naked man
producing lust and shame?
ACT IV
It’s not like this everywhere
some people made this choice;
if you disagree and want to be free
stand up and raise your voice!
