Have’s and Have Not’s.
The one that got away.
How sad those words now seem to have to say.
It’s just another chance, I just didn’t take.
Maybe we could have found a way.
If you’re out there and you can hear me clearly,
Just know I want you closely, nearly.
Oh so close to being happy.
Gone are the days of second chances,
Coming back to me.
She could be loved.
She probably already does,
Love someone else, who asked for her love.
I could never tell her my truth;
My desire for her and I to become us.
I took her flaws. They kept me trapped.
She escaped from my charms with a listless laugh,
And she was gone...to never come back.
I see her around, but that is that.
I wave to her eagerly.
Her blank expression is deadly.
She kills me with her apathy.
I deserve all I get,
Or don’t have with me.
Beautiful girl is lost.
Beautiful woman is gone.
Beautiful love is all it cost.
I could have had a beautiful life with a beautiful love...
...I could have had,
But I have not.
