As the days slip by
I wonder what it all means
this journey we all must take
What do we find along the way
Heartache, joy, suffering and love
which road do I take
where do I go
and is it too much to ask
For someone to walk beside me
Not knowing if there will be another dawn,

Trusting to put one foot in front of the other
in the hope that there will be another day
What if tomorrow never comes?
what if the hoped for destination is never reached
What is left to hold onto?
We are born with nothing
we own nothing
and we leave with nothing
Is nothing all there is?

All we can do is try and be the light
Leave behind all the love you can give
Give it all away and make more to refill what is given
the vessel grows larger the more is poured forth
But start by giving it to yourself
learn to love yourself,
learn to love others freely
learn to become love
And all of a sudden
the path
you must take
is written inside your heart
