The Soldier’s Song

We are soldiers at your disposal. Do
with us what you will. Our only purpose
in life is to defend our country. It
doesn\'t really matter who or when we
kill!

We are like garbage that can be easily
thrown away; tossed out in the muddy
streets on a cold and rainy day!

If we\'re captured by the enemy, they
slowly disassemble us, like they were
breaking a simple toy, or lock us up in
hell-holes; watching our flesh rot gives
them an untold joy.

The government pays for us to live but
wouldn\'t shed a tear if we so happened
to die!

Everyone thinks that we\'re just controlled puppets  without emotions; no love, laughter or fear, but I can show you that the many scars and blood we shed is very real and the tears streaming down
our pale cheeks are not there because of
lies!

So when you\'re sitting safe at home, quietly absorbing the news, and you come across a story about one of
our deaths, please feel remorse for that poor man\'s family, lovers, friends and quite simply, him…

...for the many tears of pain he never got a chance to cry!
