BUT GENTLY I WAIT TO SAY GOODBYE

The leaves
They moved but gently
As if wishes
Caught in flight
The sunshine danced
With nimble feet
In the graveyards
Moving light.

The benches each
Sport name plaques
In remembrance of
Those passed
As I sit in silence
Contemplating
The last of life
Thats left.

Its tranquil
In the quietness
The grass it waves
As if goodbye
The flight of birds
So distant
Circling high
Up in the sky.
