Transparent

You used to look and really
see me.  Not merely cast your
eyes in my direction, then on
to whatever caught your gaze.

You used to listen and understand
me.  Not pretend to hear my words
while distracting yourself with
own thoughts.

You used to be so still and at
Peace in my presence.   Now
you fidget and long to be
anywhere but.

You used to enjoy my playful touch;
just a brush across your face and
grasp of shoulder that declared
...you\'re mine.

Now you pull away ignoring my
attempts, while claiming nothing
is wrong...everything is fine.

You used to lay so close to me, I
could feel our hearts beat as one.
The warmth of your skin against mine
set my Soul ablaze as the Sun.

Now my pulse is all but gone.  The
isolation that surrounds me is so
cold.  Though encircled by people all
about me, I stand transparent to all
...all alone.
