Desolate

From out of a fog appears an open space, flat and desolate it carries no weight
Cloudy skies kiss cold ground an unrequited love where not even tears of rain are absorbed
Rock walls form a rigid embrace, naked but frigid, here not even hope grows
From the North, winds blow glacial warnings of a long winter of starvation
Nature\'s love embedded in ice awaiting a spring thaw
