Memory Care

The mind dims

Like a hallway light

Flicking once

Then settling into dusk

Names loosen

Slipping from their hooks

Soft as old coats

No one claims anymore

Faces blur

Into watercolor ghosts

Edges melting

Like rain on ink

But the heart

It remembers differently

It keeps the warmth

The laughter

The small familiar weight

Of a hand once held.

Even when the mind forgets

The body still knows

The rhythm of love

The shape of comfort

The gravity of someone

Who mattered

Memory care

Isn’t just a place

It’s a gentle holding

A slow returning

A promise whispered

To the fading light

You are still here

You are still known

You are still loved

In the ways

That never disappear
