I hold unyielding reverence for you Lord,
But this religion has distorted who you truly are to me.
You saved me from something I will always be indebted to you for that,
Yet I have been forced to feel estranged from you.
While I am aware you will run towards me the moment I turn back to you,
Waves of shame come over me frequently for not preserving our relationship.
I know no greater certainty other than in your existence and my inevitable demise,
This body will return to this earth as the dirt you have created me with.
Behind the fear there is relief that I will return back to you,
For eternity.
