FIREWORKS
Sparks, crackles, flashes through the body,
charged with electricity, we release stars:
it is the summit of a life that fades.
It is the final moment to shine,
to hold nothing back,
to be free.
Without censorship,
with nothing to lose,
bursts we discharge
in the ripe moment of dusk,
unrolling everything we carry inside.
Unfolding everything we planted,
the fruit has ripened:
these are the final sparks
that shine brighter
before the end.
That path,
that trail,
that walking forward
that ends in a dance.
In the dance of shining letters,
that before closing still hold that glow
of works that explode only to go dark.
Dazzling brightness in that theatre,
brilliant in its performance,
in all it has become,
and before ending,
before lowering the curtain,
in the twilight.
The music moves,
sounds wonderful,
and we leave,
no one knows
when.
Meanwhile,
ever better,
that well‑worn piece
that sounds like movement,
the tireless motion of syllables
that form words
in those poetic sparks
where the lungs exhale,
where the heart beats with vigor
in the final efforts, giving everything
until the river’s strength is spent.
As the river flows toward its mouth
amid flashes of thunder,
it is the glow of descent
through waterfalls,
in the shimmer
of water
that goes,
through tears.
Bittersweet ending
of the dance of words,
of the last brilliant gasps
in the final explosion
where my sea
empties itself.

FUEGOS ARTIFICIALES
suena genial,
y nos vamos,
no se sabe
cuándo.
Entretanto,
cada vez mejor,
esa obra tan rodada
Agridulce final
de la danza de las palabras,
de los últimos estertores brillantes
en la explosión final
donde se vacía
el mar mío.
