How can I want
what I don’t know
or do I not know it
but can feel it
I have spent years
trying to describe love,
what is it?
I can use a thousand words
to describe just one word
maybe it was not meant
to be described
but to be felt
You can feel love
feel loved
show love
They may take your love
and wear it like a costume,
but those who feel it,
they will love you back
It’s incredibly rare
to give someone your time
your body
your soul
sacrifice for them
Be there when the rainbow
is shining through the sky
be there when the storm
hovers over your roof
and they do the same
Yet still loyal
like the rock to the soil
You start to realise
when what first attracted you
is no longer there,
and both still stay
then
that is love
