An ode to the earth, as old as birth, and cold as death, gold to test my worth, sold to help my health, hold to sate the greed, that seeped and grown from the seed, planted brown in the heat of the night. Yeah, where I lost sight, and let down my guard, no longer as hard, I had to give in to the sweet voice of power, lost in thought in the shower, no longer will I cower, and shake in my boots, but now I stand and hoot, at peasants in their cots, caught in flames with not enough water in their pot, I am now a god, with flesh but no soul, sold to gold to hold power in this ephemeral show.
