The Ooses of Slee
Oliver, Violet, and the girls
All their time inside this world
Had never moved through
A harder place
Than the slimy marshes
Here this day
They were told by a talking tree
That on the other side of Slee
They could find a wizard
And a Telepath who could send
Them home but not for free
Indeed they’d have to pay him cash
A fee for him to send them back
While Violet and some others
Missed their home
Oliver didn’t want to go back to his
Family alone
The only one he had he trusted
There back home
Was his friend Hughie who was not
Mean and cold
So here they trudged with heavy boots
With hope and safety driving their pursuit
For they knew that if they failed
To get across the marsh in trailed
The nocturnal snakes would awake
And eat the children in the lake
With this in mind the children strained
“Hurry the heck up!” Annie spake
She felt something wiggle on her leg
“Ohh, disgusting!” and she fled
But whatever creature underneath
Would not leave her leg in peace
It latched upon her and she screamed
They all were wet there in their agony
“Shut up, Annie! Don’t you dare
awake the beasts that sleep down there!”
Violet scolded her
The beast wrapped around her thigh
Felt like a giant leach and sly
Slippery and tightly gripped
“I’ll freak out if it climbs up my vest!”
It clamped down hard and Annie moaned
In sheer distress while it squeezed her bones
But she walked on without a choice
And Emily squealed when one got her too
Like these beasts thought these kids were toys
“Ohh my God!!!” Oliver yelled.
“I feel something grip me! Help!”
And Oct-limbs groped his crotch
He cried “No no no, get off!”
“I can’t let a leach-thing latch on my zipper.”
The kids moved on, their steps getting slower.
A nasty stench then reached their noses
Insanitary was all these Ooses
And they struggled on like the weary Moses
Whom in the Bible felt a relentless neuroses
They tasted bitterness in their saliva
So they started furiously spitting
Sallamay squealed
“I felt it brush right under my liner!”
They moved so frantically they often splashed
Swamp water soaked them above their sash
They heard vibrating around their legszyz
Where swamp things swam in an ecstatic frenzy
