The Dawn of Creation

There was chaos—
nothing had shape.

It was formless and void—
the moment before creation.

A gulf existed
where matter was separated,
fragmented—
its pieces floating in circles,
a rhythm at their core.

A fragile surface, like film,
hovered over clusters of light,
molecules waiting to be gathered
into creation—

thus bringing forth
a silver dawn,

where light
is separated
from darkness.
