Sassy Lou

Lost Soul

Prisoner of a broken psyche

while marking the passage of dead hours and lost time

Every tick of the clock is a slow rot,

consuming me piece by piece

Behind these haggered, unfeeling shells,

a fading spirit resigning to the dark

Whispered deaths and suffocated screams,

cast beneath a shroud of broken vows

Let this heartache be my grave,

where nothing but shadows remain

Bury me under the weight of disgrace,

etch every fault onto my skin

Inter my bones in the frozen dirt,

where my sins can no longer weep

Let my past demons tether me,

to the suffering I create

Drifting through an infinite dark,

forgotten by the sun

And somehow I already know

this horror is just beginning to unfold

Cling on, they say,

but the thread is fraying in my hands

Deconstruct me completely,

while I flee from my internal decay

Emotional numbness

My heart beats softly, locked away from the world

A dull, sluggish pulse,

echoed from the depths

This hollow ache consumes my soul,

a chaotic darkness taking hold

Yet deep beneath the fading pain,

a quiet spark remains

Yet defeat feels near,

draining my life into the dark

Spending every ounce of my soul

to keep my pieces from scattering

A shadow moving through the bleak,

longing for what slipped away

A lingering soul,

cursed to carry the abyss alone

Tethered to the wounds of my past,

and the ashes of what I left behind

An untamed wraith dwelling in a mortal shell, cold and long forgotten

And though I fade into the light,

my shadow stays behind

Murmuring through the frost:

Resting here is a wandering soul,

forever at war within itself
