A certain Slicker-Slacker-Slither-slike
Hit up a deal with Mr. Mike
To sell him cheap a property
Where he could live with wealth and peace
It was the biggest of the biggest lands
It cost no more than fifty grand
But the price went down when lost the Baker
In the town election to the Candlestick Maker
All of this was so he claimed
Mike trusted him as a reputable name
And he failed to examine or frame
That “Slither” was inside his name!
On a cloudy day he met with Mike
To discuss what the land was like
Safe to farm and safe to garden
“Don’t mind that hole, I beg your pardon!”
Mike almost saw a red flag
But he didn’t want to be a drag
He shook hands with Mr. Slither
“I’ll buy the place, much obliged, Mister!”
Then they went for a too short tour
“I don’t need to see anything more!”
“I’ll buy the place and just fix the breaker!”
The land of gold in many acres
So he paid down the twenty grand
And thought he had an excellent plan
But Mr. Mike was too naive
To let himself be thus deceived
After all was settled, signed and done
Mike thought that he was in for fun
But as he scaled his new place
He saw its state in sheer disgrace
Poison Ivy littered everywhere
Holes dotted the field on which he stared
And before he could run to Slike in fury
He tripped and fell into a hole quite dreary
Mr. Mike; he yelped and wailed
To see Slike’s tricks he knew he failed
Now he was stuck inside this hole
Alone except for that dung in the bowl!
