Early summer
Hazy sun
Lying on my bed, staring at each other
Liquid pools of blue
When you left, you took my heart too
A slow unraveling where you used to hold me
With words so sweet and true
Lay my heart on your table
Press your palms against it till it bleeds
The quiet spills of my love
Running through the cracks
Hang it out to dry, smooth it flat
Make it fold with your praise
With your whispers of sweet nothing
Fold my heart
Into an Origami Swan
Set me afloat on your waters
hollow boned and paper thin
waiting for your breath
to drift me back in.
