Broken Window

A broken window

Watched the night

Its jagged teeth

Biting light

The moon slipped through

The splintered seam

Spilling silver

On a dying dream

Cold wind wandered

Room to room

Carrying whispers

Dust

Gloom

The curtains swayed

Like ghosts at prayer

Reaching for

What wasn\'t there

Each crack became

A winding road

Where old grief walked

And hid its load

Years fell softly

Like failing snow

Yet the shattered pane

Refused to let go

Still every storm

Returns somehow

To kiss the scars

Upon its brow

And through the wound

The stars still bloom

A broken window

A broken room

Yet even ruins

Make space for light

And even sorrow

Holds the night
