Tune: St Fulbert [Series: Hymns with Saints Tunes 3]
(\'Ye choirs of new Jerusalem\')
John 1 v.14-18
*********
And the Word was made flesh and dwelt
Midst us, His presence felt
And we beheld His glory as
He the Son of God has
Glory as of sole begotten
Of the Father, the Son
Is He, and full of truth and grace
Came to our human race
John Baptist said of Him, He be
Ranked higher than I, see
He appeared after me, but He
The One I speak of be
And of His fulness have all we
Received, it gracious be
The law was given through Moses
But truth, grace unto us
No one has seen God any time
In person in life\'s rhyme
The only begotten Son, He
Father makes known freely
