Silence

Bang! Bang Bang thump thump

twaaang, splash and crash!

Bass bass bass crash!

The music splits atoms and shakes my heart

My ears listen and translate and analyze

Every note, frequency: high, low

Decibels painted them into my brain

Where they smiled and told stories

Stories of love, lust, hate, green grass

Blue oceans with foamy white crests popping

Cheating lovers and perfect lovers

Bombs and killing and innovation

Grief, destruction, marriage

I heard them all

All them vignettes on a tapestry

I planted flowers with them

Grew little trees into sturdy oaks

Growing acorns themselves

Only to drop them on the ground to sprout

I show them the Bang! bang bang

And paintings and words that form images

They feel it!

In their hearts they pulse with rhythm and rhyme

Tap Tap Tap to the beat

Their little feet dance

My heart, it balloons red and veins pop out

Filled with love

But my body, my ears, they are naught

giving way to age, weathered with life

Experiences, good, bad, so so hard and so full of grief

So so full of love, joy, pillowed clouds dabbed with blue blotches

Laying on a beach of sand I smile

A smile of the century!

My eyes close

And my mind goes silent, forever
