Hurricane

You’ve heard me say that when it rains it pours,

Probably a countless number of times.

For that is the weather behind the doors,

That we close when we start losing our minds.

Because we can only let so much in,

Before the doors break down and we then drown.

In the rain made out of the tears within,

Along with voices that have grown too loud.

So once that water starts flooding our souls,

In this universe where humans reside,

We notice the overflowing holes,

That we were once trapped in break open wide.

Avoiding issues inside that were missed,

Deep in our minds from memories denied,

Until now which has led us to be pissed,

That we no longer had places to hide.

We were being forced to deal with the pain,

After pretending like it wasn’t there.

And I feel unsure of what I’m to gain,

By sharing my thoughts with those that don’t care.

This downpour has become a hurricane,

Due to the collection of things gone wrong.

With no choice but to stay in our lane,

As we are tested and told to be strong.

But you can only do that for so long,

Before something stronger makes sure you’re gone.
