Airpain Too

There are many Ailments that lead to Bed,

And here is one that\'s Comedy Bred.

For up the Steps I travelled one day,

While Boarding a Plane - My feet gave way.

My balance gave and  down I go;

Like a Certain Lady I used to know.

And there and then with great Alarm,

A  Vesuvius of Pain in my lower Arm.

That led  to Screams and a Profanity Shout;

That Shocked the Nuns who Stood about.

To lie around for an Ambulance ride,

With much Guffaws as If I died.

So Ten Minutes past when down the Track,

With Sirens Sounding like Cilla Black,

The Ambulance came and just in Time:

For delaying the Flight I Risked a Fine.

How the Driver Drove Right through the Sections;

Like Popeye Doyle in  \'The French Connection\'.

Then Wheeled about and placed on a Bed;

Right next to a Man with a Dish on his Head.

Now.  Lying Prostrate and feeling much  a Clown,

Like believing a Promise when Elections Abound;

The Doctor arrives with a Mournful Air,

And Spoke these words to which I Share:

\'What the X-ray Proved and looks to be;

Is an  Airline Fracture  for all to see\'.
