Letters to Her #6

Fantasies keep me up at night, wondering how soundly I’d sleep with you right there

You’d pull my arm around you, you’d lay your head on my chest bare

I’d drift off looking down longingly and running fingers through your hair

But all I can ever do is hope for it in my evening prayer

I can’t imagine anyone else, it makes all the sense to me

But the beginning and end of everything that matters, you do not agree

And I don’t understand what differently you see

Yet, I’ll never be with you, you’ll never be with me

What we have is good, but we could be the best

You know you’re safe here, you can find freedom and rest

If not, can you do something so my mind and dreams you don’t infest?

Nevermind, I have you in my life, I’m blessed
