How selfish of her

To ache in a life so full

To find darkness in rooms

Made of glass

How ungrateful

To be handed the word

And find herself

Searching for a new one

She has recited the words

Until they no longer sound as they once did

An explanation rehearsed

Millions of times

Caught in a web in her throat

And oh how she hates herself

For not being able to break this spell

How thoughtless can she be

Making a tragedy from a normal Tuesday

Turning love to worry

Kindness into guilt

And every unanswered question

Another penny in the jar

How unstable

So angry that surviving

Has become another obligation

Drowning in the burden

Of being brave

What a terrible thing

To make the people you love

Watch you disappear

Into pieces,

And never having the words

To explain why
