The doll is young , naive, they say ,
The doll is sick , they give her pills,
The doll needs help ; a regular to the doctor, smart and sound,
But what does she know?
What does she know?
The doll has been sick for awhile now,
Ten years is what the numbers say,
A decade braving it,
But what does she know?
What does she know?
The doll has multiple times fallen victim to the fluids in her brain,
She knows to overcome it, manage it , supposedly,
But it\'s not good enough for them,
They believe she is made of glass,
A glass doll who can break apart any minute, any second,
But what does she know?
What does she know?
That is not the only prospect the doll struggles on,
Tears herself apart on ,
The doll is a clown,
In a circus built on bodies,
The clown is hung up by tightropes,
Juggling clubs,
Four of them,
One made of the darkness that lingers and screams muffled,
Second made of food, fear and failure,
Third made of objects with a sharp edge ; put to much more than practical use ,
Fourth made of the beast that sometimes possesses the doll,
The one who makes her scream and thrash and yell and puts her through hell,
But what does she know?
What does she know?
They are unaware about it all,
Unaware about the beasts and the clubs and the clowns and the circus,
Because ofcourse they are,
But what does she know?
What does she know?
One particular day,
The doll has a lot to face,
Maybe the doll woke up on the wrong side of her bed,
Maybe she spilled salt,
Maybe she broke a mirror,
But what does she know?
What does she know?
Evening falls,
And the beast possesses her yet again ,
And as was told in the prophecy,
The doll screams and thrashes and yells and goes through hell,
Those ten minutes feel longer than ten years of being sick,
Eventually it passes ,
Like all things do,
And the doll is left exhausted and emptied,
But what does she know?
What does she know?
The beast has quite the powers,
This is the ninth time this month the doll fell victim to him,
She has no control,
She is to him what a puppet is to a puppeteer,
But what does she know?
What does she know?
The doll thinks and thinks and thinks and thinks,
She contemplates her chances ,
And then she decides to tell them,
Alas , her mind missed the blind spot,
The hell that would come down once they knew,
But what does she know?
What does she know?
The doll gathers her courage all she can,
She braves against every stop sign in her mind telling her not to,
Slowly, so slowly,
She tells them everything,
Every detail,
She tells the horror story,
The terrible tale,
But what does she know?
What does she know?
They put their heads together,
Debate and discuss,
They can\'t make sense of it,
It\'s a foreign concept,
But what does she know?
What does she know?
They take her to the doctor,
Smart and sound,
All knowing doctor,
She doesn\'t stand a chance,
But what does she know?
What does she know?
They debate and discuss with the doctor,
She tries and tries to tell the terrible tale again,
But the doctor doesn\'t believe her,
They say to her , holding her hand, \' Oh but my dear, the doctor is listening, the doctor is nice. \'
But the doctor doesn\'t believe her tales about the beast,
But what does she know?
What does she know?
The doctor misses the correct diagnosis like the doll missed the blind spot,
They believe what the doctor says,
And the doctor thinks and evaluates,
And declares it another \' episode \' of her falling victim to the fluids again,
Even so , the kind doctor,
The all knowing doctor,
Orders a test,
As the doll tries and tries and tries,
Yet her terrible tale falls on deaf ears,
But what does she know?
What does she know?
They take her to a sterile room,
Flooded in white,
Blinding overhead lights,
And mechanical noise,
And they run the tests,
Put the wires on her head,
Stick it on with cotton and cream,
And turn on the machine,
The man in a white coat speaks,
\" Relax, my dear , don\'t worry , don\'t fret. Just close your eyes and let the machine do it\'s work. Don\'t stress over nothing, darling. \"
Against her wish,
Against her will,
She follows the instructions,
But what does she know?
What does she know?
Alas , her luck seemed morbid that day,
Poor thing must\'ve offended the gods to fall victim to such a mishap,
They run the tests,
And the blinding overhead lights flicker in her eyes,
Fluids in her brain act up again,
And before she can stop it,
An instance of her miswired brain has already taken place,
It is too late,
But what does she know?
What does she know?
The doll, young and naive, as they call her,
Is taken out of the sterile room,
Clocks bleed by,
And the report is released,
Like a speck of fire into the forest,
And the doctor declared every word out of the doll\'s mouth untrue,
\" Clearly, it\'s an episode \" , the doctor says,
As the doll stares horrified, her trust betrayed,
But what does she know?
What does she know?
The kind, knowing, doctor increased her meds,
Meds she is given against her will,
Meds she despises,
And the people around her,
They don\'t trust the doll now,
Clearly she can\'t be trusted to take her meds on time,
So she will be given her meds ,
Like she\'s a toddler and not a fallen soldier,
They don\'t trust the doll anymore,
Obviously it\'s the doctor\'s word over the doll\'s,
But what does she know?
What does she know?
They tell her, train her , soothe her,
The kind and loving people say , \" Darling, surely you have to believe the doctor and the report, for the report is not wrong and the reports never lie. \"
And the doll, she screams and thrashes and yells and goes through hell,
She is being taught about her sickness,
The one she has had for a decade now,
For what does she know?
What does she know?
The doll is still a clown ,
Still juggling the clubs,
Still performing in a circus,
And she will continue to do so,
But the doll has gone silent,
Her eyes are dead,
And her mouth is taped shut,
The doll will never tell the terrible tales and the horror stories,
For what does she know?
What does she know?
The doll will face the beasts and the clowns and the clubs and the circus,
Again and again and again and again,
But she will swallow her eyeball before turning to the people,
For they left the doll barely sane,
But what does she know?
What does she know?
