Do we need a change?

Change is a way of life

What seems right today may change

Moods and temperament swing

Change  in dress, home, place, our ways

Food, seasons, night and days

while sun and moon pursue their course

A plethora of changes dwell within us.

List is long  and ever growing

Yet pause a while and ask;

when the economy is booming

prices stabilised, GDP growing,

when millions rise above poverty

Freedom flourished for all,

What is the change we seek after all?

Gas and light reach every home,

Bank accounts for millions of their own

UPI service for swift payments at ease

Highways, ports, airports, metros and trains

Bringing distant destinations within reach.

Making  journeys  faster  and fair.

Democracy stands vibrant and buoyant

Institutions doing their tasks on all counts

Transparency, efficacy, one can sense

Elected leaders are always on their toes

The nation\'s guardians ever vigilant,

The elected regime doing its best

Ready to redress pleas at any instant.

Now, unseen hands reach from afar,

Fuelled by forces beyond their shores

Stirring young minds, make them plunge

Into an agitation, demanding regime change

Chaos erupts, confusion prevails

There are fewer speeches and more screeches

But the change for what? From better to worse?

What purpose does such upheaval serve?

Are the protests worth the price they bear?

The dilemma lingers in the air.
