"A Fortnight of Valentines"---my latest (crazy)whimsy....a collection of sappy sonnet (attempts), fraught with redundancy, and so hastily executed and crafted by imaginative fancy as to hopefully not be too repulsive to the reader. And yes, fairly UNedited, presently.
(sonnet attempt #XIX)
And did I hear you say that just to me?
How welcome your sweet accents reach my ears!
So like the birds which ever through the years
Do greet and rouse the newborn morning sweet,
Announce and hail new day exquisitely...
The waking heart quickening with such cheer,
Eyes sparkling, hopes arising, prospects dear
Of chances yet unseen, fond cherished dreams.
Oh Thine! My hand in yours forever claspt!
Together wherever our path may wend...
Through brightest days and gloomy nights....all Thine!
To share your joys, mine intertwined....we grasp
Nor hardly comprehend what these portend....
These two sweet words, my dearest Valentine!
