Cheeky Missy

Goodbye?

(sonnet # CCXXVIII)

And now we disappear. Unless, you know,
Somehow it all could not be just a dream.
As if the barriers that ever seem
To keep us dancing hopeless in that NO-
Man's Land of untruth and frustration show
A diff'rent face. Like mountains whose esteem
The dauntless challenge, dare surmount, and deem
But boulders in the path that they shall go.
Perhaps in that case it could be. But time
Alone shall prove it mockery anew;
Or mayhap strangely make real'ty climb
Up o'er the edge of dreams and call them true.
Oh I shall wait. And wake. And meanwhile rhyme;
More sweetly, oddly, than the first days too.
