You Win!

(sonnet # CCL)

Thy scenes are fairer than the spring's array,
Although renewed life ev'rywhere 'round quite
Cheers, bloss'ming in chartreuse and pinks, a sight
For longing eyes and hearts beseiged by grey
And Winter's white. They're fairer still than a
Dear Summer's day where all's carefree, the height
Of passion in her heat, rich greens. Despite
Her charms, sweet Autumn, thou'st the strongest sway.
Thou art most colourful of all by far,
With golden greens, hast life, some heat, some chill;
The crickets sing though birds fly south and mar
That cheer; yet harvest and thy brilliance fill,
Infuse life with such beauty, joy, and are
Perhaps thy winning points: Thou dost most thrill.
