Cheeky Missy

Still in Love...

(sonnet # CCCLXIX)

Horizon's purple-tinted grey-blue haze
On distant skeletons of trees, where white
Mist faintly hints of romance, teases: sleight
Or truth? Aye, ruse whereby fair sunny days
Enchant and subtly charm the longing gaze,
Imbuing Autumn's lost world cheer'ly, quite
Endearing its forlorn and dismal plight
'Til I love it as well as pri'r bouquets.
While open clear blue heavens gracious beam
A welcome, lacing all with golden glow,
Where verdent lawns' rich green surround, they seem
Though life lie buried, sweetly to bestow,
By light alone? a soft'ning touch, redeem
From mournful shades dear joy to reign sans woe.
