Knock On Wood

If through space and time

It was known that I was to be yours and you were to be mine

There wouldn’t be a reason for a time machine

Knock on wood, knock on wood

If written in the stars was your name across from mine

I wouldn’t dream of an eraser big enough to make it not so

Knock on wood, knock on wood

If luck had anything to do with us falling in love

I would find myself a rabbit’s foot, a leprechaun’s pot of gold

And hold on to them until the end of times

Knock on wood, knock on wood

If in the desert like Aladdin

I found myself an old lamp and a genie inside

I would wish for you more than one time

Because truthfully, one of you is just not enough

Knock on wood, knock on wood

And if it only took a poem for you to notice this silly old me

Then I would write you a thousand more romantic ones

Just so you would know that you one hell of an inspiration

Knock on wood, knock on wood, knock on wood.
