THE PATRIOT

They came over the border from the highest of order

They marched in the droves like cattle among cloves

The destruction and pillage was brought to every village

We died in our sleep, it was like wolves among sheep

What were they doing to our Bonny land? We are humble people who dinnae understand!

Some stood a good fight against all that might

We were led into lures on our heathery moors

We battled on our glens, but we were outnumbered by many of tens

And all the blood spilt on ghostly culloden,
Now there is a place that should never be forgotten!

Strong words were been spoken at the castle Dunedin
Over our lands \" they wernea even needin\"

In exchange for our land they\'d offer us shelter,
If that is a joke, it\'s certainly a belter!

So we give you our country and still pay you money?
Now please forgive me?
But I dinnae find that funny!

Needless to say, the south had their way
That in my Bonny Scotland...
They\'ll be here to stay!!
