G-Kaphen

I intended this to be a love poem but I made a joke about Morrissey and it all went downhill from there

If the whole world were to lose light, everyone would be up in arms.
The newspapers wouldn’t let Morrissey sleep,
after in ’86 he promised us all there would be a light that would always keep.

There would be wide spread madness
from the conspirasists who are always claiming it’s the apocalypse,
to the elderly and young kids.
Everyone would be panic buying candles, forgetting that we have no light.
Many people would be full of fright
because, who knows where the spiders are now?

We’d all be walking around trying to be like those fish in the deep ocean
Strapping reflective things to our heads endlessly hoping
But it still won’t work because there’s nothing to be bounced off.
We’d just look like awkward shiny humans who keep stubbing their toes on every surface we’ve ever known of.

The media would go crazy,
but would find it hard to report.
Injury rates will rocket,
But there would be no way to help
Because who would trust a random guy with a knife?

In all seriousness,
If the world lost all its light,
How would we tell the blind people?
