We live so close, but yet so far
Nothing can change who we are
We fight and struggle every day
Always listening to what others say
We try to hide the voices in our heads
But they follow us to our deathbeds
It’s so hard to hide
We are scared of what’s inside
We run away from who we are
But the sad thing is, we never get very far.
We fall into a deep depression
Our parents worry, and we go to a session
It’s not our fault that we are like this
We all, at once, were at bliss.
People pushed us to what we are now
None of us even know how
It always starts off as we were friends
But somehow it all ends
Words are said and the bridge is burned
Something happens where the tables turn
The bridges are attempted to be repaired
It lasts for a little bit but then it falls and becomes crumpled
After the words are said we spiral downward
Our spirits are crushed and we become cowards
Clinging to the shadows that hide on the wall
We stay with the darkness through the long haul
We believe that it’s our only friend
But it only leads us to more dead ends
As we cling to the shadows, a light emerges
We walk towards it and try to purge
We want to hide our past and meet someone new
A person who will stick with us through and through
A person who loves us for who we are.
Who doesn’t care about our scar
A person who loves us no matter our burdens
Someone who won’t shut the curtains
Someone who accepts our past, and looks forward to our future
A person who gives us structure
When we find that person, everything seems lifted.
People who are like that are truly gifted.
But then again, it’s not really a talent
They are all so valiant.
But it seems like they help us because we love them
They will never cut our stem
They will help us grow to the sky
Help us grow wings and fly
Always look for the light in the end
It doesn’t matter if you lost a friend
You can make many others
They will be as close to you as big brothers
Look for the light at the end
