Charity starts at home
Lest we forget
But how can we, with our philanthropic parties
With our silent auctions, with our country club contributions,
Planting seeds for change before pulling non-conducive weeds up by the root
Corporately responsible
Individually repugnant with the gumption to walk past the strangers we meet
And not offer them food to eat
God bless America for I know she weeps because
Her Dream has been built on the backs of the under-privileged
I can see those smiles start to diminish
You may try to cut me off before I\'m finished
But the truth, no matter how subjective will not be complicit
The intent of this illustration is to elicit emissions and admissions to the fact the the cogs in the well-oiled machine need fine tuning
Listen to them spin
Hear them creaking without ceasing
Clinging to what\'s left of their dignity sometimes even their sanity
While your disposition remains...lethargic
