Hennessy on the Rocks

Hennessy on the rocks
Smoke engulfing the air
The melody of the sax playing in the background
The beautiful drumming from the snares
As I take a sip from my drink
Lost in my paradox of illusions
A lovely woman enters the bar
Seductive, amazing, and elusive

As she walked across my path
I notice the slenderness of her scripture

She stopped, sat next to me and ordered a glass

Hennessy on the rocks

Now, as my mind started to wondered
Sitting next to this woman, I started to pondered
Words to elude her with
Watching the way, the glass touches her lips
Glass stained from her Cover Girl red lip stick

Hesitant as I sit
Afraid to engage into stimulated conversation
To ease the tension of her presence
I order another drink and took of sip of

Hennessy on the rocks

As my pulse races, I can’t help but to wonder
Why a beautiful woman would choose to rest herself next to me
Immaculate is her essence
Flawless is all of her features
The way her eyes breathes life into my soul
Born again from her amazing grace

As I sit here at this bar
Admiring this woman whom sitting next to me from afar
Listening to the strings being pulled on the guitar
Feeling the anxiety and pressure beating from my heart
Because I was too scared to even start
A conversation, a dialogue which may spark
Chemistry between two strangers

Why dwell in uncertainty
And worry about this hidden knowledge called love
If this was meant to be
Then it was
If not,
Then so be it
There is always victory in a defeat
But I want see
If she will embrace me

As I gazed my eyes upon her
And as she swayed her lovely eyes in my direction
I looked at the bartender and ordered another drink

Hennessy on the rocks
